San Diego, California Travel Guide

As many of you may already know, I used to live in San Diego. So you have to know, it’s also one of my favorite cities! This post is all about awesome places to eat, drink (coffee), and shop. So if you are making a trip down to San Diego soon and want to hear my recommendations, this is for you 🙂

Eat:

Madison On Park Located in Mission Valley, Madison is a sleek, cedar-walled space that serves modern Mediterranean fare & cocktails. The vaulted ceilings and geometric designs throughout the restaurant is nothing short of unique and adorable.

Jeune Et Jolie Think French design with a So-Cal Twist! Located in Carlsbad, Jeune Et Joile features modern French cuisine in a very chic atmosphere. Prepare yourself for beautifully plated food and fun flavors.

Parakeet Cafe Hip & trendy cafe with a well-rounded menu. Located in the heart of, La Jolla Parakeet Cafe offers artisanal toasts, bowls and a variety of breakfast eats.

Luca Located in the Guild Hotel, Luca features contemporary Mediterranean cuisine. Located off the main lobby in the historic courtyard, Luca offers a Riviera-style dining, black-&-white accents & marble-top tables. It’s the perfect spot to relax & dine with family & friends.

Morning Glory Known, as the “Millennial Wonderland,” for its over the top interior decor. The 30-foot electric-pink neon flower and Champagne vending machine are just a few things, you’d expect to see in this vibrant and outgoing restaurant. Get the Japanese Pancakes! You won’t be disappointed.

Shop:

Liv3 is my secret go-to spot for cute outfits and home goods! A family owned company, passed down to 3 sisters. Jina, Jiin and Jane are the best hands down! The store features a curated assortment of clothing, jewelry, intimates, home furniture and décor, beauty, and gifts. What more could a girl want?

Pigment with multiple locations, Pigment offers a carefully curated and unique selection of artisanal items. Your one-stop shop for flora, furniture and thoughtful gifts.

Moniker General offers a variety of curated home goods, custom furniture and lifestyle products all in one unified storefront. Grab a small bite to eat or grab a beer on tap in their small eatery and experience what Moniker General is all about.

Drink:

Better Buzz with multiple locations throughout San Diego, this is one that will always be on my list. Known for it’s small batch coffee and wide variety of drinks, this has to be my favorite coffee places of all time. Best Drink Ever and the Rose Water Latte are just some of my favorites!

Communal Coffee is a modern, bohemian coffee shop featuring breakfast pastries & lunch items. Did I mention, there’s an in-store boutique florist? It’s a winning combination.

Holy Matcha says it all! Indeed, it’s not coffee but this is every Matcha lovers dream! Beautifully decorated in palm-patterned wallpaper and pink banquettes seating, Holy Matcha specializes in everything Matcha.

While there is so much to see and do in San Diego, there is no shortage of great places to go. You’re literally minutes to the beach and an hour away from just about anything. These were just some of my favorites and I’m glad I finally got to share this list. Regardless of where you are in San Diego, you know it’s going to be a good time.
