Babywearing

I love to baby wear. It really helped me to develop a bond with Goldie when she was born and I carried her whenever I could (I still do!). If she was ever fussy, I would just put her in one of our wraps and within a minutes, she would relax.

There are many ways to wear your baby and yes, it’s not easy at first, but with practice and a lot of patience, anyone can do it!

Now, I’m not one for sticking to just one baby carrier. I’m guilty, and have several option to choose from, but once you get the hang of it, you tend to prefer certain ones over the other. You never know which type of carrier will come in handy; ring sling for quick trips or structured carriers for longer trips. However, for the newborn stage and first few months the only carrier I liked to use was a stretchy wrap.

It was a few weeks before I could comfortably put Goldie in the Solly baby wrap after she was born. Because I had a Caesarean section, it took a while before I felt comfortable with baby girl in the wrap. As soon as I put her in; it was a game changer…It was bliss! The fabric was smooth and soft and had just the right amount of stretch to it. Goldie was instantly weightless and I could have carried her all day long. It made it much easier to hold and the fabric glides over your shoulders and tightens really nicely.

Now that Goldie is now little older, I don’t use my stretch wrap as much, but really love my ring slings! Wildbird, Kyte Baby and Sakura Bloom are just some of my go-to’s.

Have you tried babywearing? What are your favorites?
